On February 12, 2009, Leonard Slatkin and the Academy Orchestra performed the U.S. premier of Kalevi Aho's Concerto for Contrabassoon, with soloist Lewis Lipnick of the National Symphony Orchestra.

Performed in December, 2010. The Academy dance students were joined by theatre students and were accompanied by the Academy Orchestra.
