Road Trip to Grand Rapids with Visual Arts and Theatre Production
The day trip to Grand Rapids was memorable. A beautiful early morning drive with a stunning sunrise and vibrant tree colors took us to our first stop, the Meijer Gardens. We saw cacti, carnivorous plants and many sculptures that graced the landscape. After a quick coffee break we visited the Grand Rapids Art Museum (GRAM) and students spent the afternoon roaming the town and exploring the amazing ArtPrize events. Now in its fifth year, the event turns the entire city of Grand Rapids into an arts museum featuring works from around the world. Nearly half a million visitors get to cast their vote to select winners in the competition, which awards more than half a million in prize money. Then back to Interlochen for the Homecoming Dance!
