This week we went analog in our Digital Artist class, rapping, scratching and turntabling with Dee Jay Doc Harrill, who raps with a mission. In 2011, he founded an organization called Fresh Camp in downtown Cleveland. He helps kids develop creativity, character and confidence by re-envisioning their neighborhood, participating in community gardens, and creating professional quality hip-hop songs to promote their learning. In 2014 he launched the first Freshtober Fest, to motivate the youth of Cleveland to become more involved in their community gardens and promote healthy eating. Our students had a great time testing their creative skills through this new (old) outlet.
