Overview
In order to gauge a student’s potential for success within the demanding and intense program at the Academy, we complete a very thorough evaluation using the application information, recommendations and the audition or portfolio presentation. In this evaluation we are seeking individuals who:
- Demonstrate a high level of artistic achievement and/or potential in their chosen art form
- Succeed and thrive in a challenging and rigorous academic environment
- Are excited and enthusiastic about learning
- Have the ability and desire to make a positive contribution to the Academy family

Process
- Review this website thoroughly; if you think Interlochen might be a good fit for you and you want to learn more, complete our information request form.
- If possible, come see what we are all about in person; call us at 800.681.5912 or 231.276.7472 to schedule a visit to our campus. We'll give you the grand tour, visit some classes and take in a performance or two. You can talk with other students to find out what they think of Interlochen. You may also take the opportunity to audition or present your portfolio while on campus.
- Fill out the application and financial aid forms. Enrollment decisions are made on a rolling basis, so early applications are strongly encouraged.
- Applicants who apply before February 1 will hear of their status by the end of March; other applicants will be notified on a rolling basis. All applicants will be notified by mail; please do not call or e-mail the office to check on your admission status.

Important Application Dates
February 1 - Priority Application Date
Applicants who apply before February 1 will hear of their status by the end of March; later applicants will be notified on a rolling basis.
February 15 - Parents' Financial Statement
It is recommended that families submit the Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) to School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) in Princeton, NJ for priority consideration of financial aid funds. The PFS form is available from the Admissions Office.
Families may also choose to submit an electronic version of the PFS form.
March 1 - Business Tax Records
If applicable, newly filed business tax records are due to the Office of Admission and Financial Aid.
April 15 - Federal Tax Records
The newly filed Federal tax records (with all schedules and earning statements) must be submitted to the Office of Admission & Financial Aid.
