Bryan Conger

Bryan Conger comes to Interlochen from The Juilliard School, where he has just completed his DMA in clarinet performance.  Bryan has been teaching music theory and analysis, and ESL for undergraduate students at Juilliard since 2012.  He has a wide variety of professional performance experience including performing as Principal clarinet with the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra in San Francisco, where he performs on historical instruments; Symphony in C in New York; performing on Broadway on both clarinet and saxophone; and performing new music with the Texas New Music Ensemble.  Bryan has also served as principal clarinetist and soloist with the New Juilliard contemporary music ensemble where the New York Times described his playing as possessing, "commanding technique, myriad colorings, and flair." He has also toured with Idina Menzel performing on both clarinet and saxophone.  Before working on his doctorate, Bryan taught for two years at the John Cooper School in Houston Texas where he honed his skills teaching high school students.
