David Allen

David came to Interlochen after having lived and taught at independent schools in New England as well as in Japan and South Korea. These experiences have included living with an A-bomb survivor in Hiroshima and visiting the North Korean DMZ. In addition to serving as History Department Chair at his previous boarding school, David has spent summers teaching Economics and ESL at Phillips Andover and The Taft School and was a dorm parent at St. Paul's Advanced Studies Program. He founded the Amnesty International chapter at his previous school which spearheaded campus programs on Darfur and Haiti and he served as a mentor to graduate students at Harvard before coming to Michigan, where he loves sailing and remains a Red Sox fan.
