Eric Blackburn joined the English faculty at Interlochen in 2011. Before moving to northern Michigan, he taught high school English courses in Indiana and Utah as well as college literature and writing courses at the University of Utah, where he coordinated the school's Intermediate Academic Writing Colloquium.
Mr. Blackburn teaches English One to incoming Arts Academy ninth graders and upper level English electives focusing on short fiction, the literature and culture of the American West, and Native American literature. In addition to teaching, Mr. Blackburn also directs the Wild Wild (mid)West Film Festival, an annual student-organized film festival presented at the historic State Theatre in downtown Traverse City.
