Kyle Novy brings his experience in modern songwriting and technology to the Singer-Songwriter program at the Interlochen Arts Academy. A guitarist of over fifteen years, Kyle is skilled at performing and recording rock, pop, blues, funk, country, folk, indie, R&B, alternative, hip-hop, jazz and more. He also arranges, programs, and composes on keyboard.
Kyle earned a bachelor’s degree in Guitar Performance (Commercial Music) from Musicians Institute, and a Master’s degree in Crosscultural Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary, focusing his studies on music and postmodern culture. His performance experience in the Los Angeles area includes playing guitar in theatrical, studio, and live performance settings, as well as composing music for web videos, commercials, art events, and more.
As a music producer and audio engineer, Kyle has guided many artists through the creative process, from crafting a song to recording and performing the final work. In 2009, he opened a recording studio in the Pacific Northwest, which quickly grew into an online music company producing songs for artists all over the country. A passionate mentor, Kyle believes in fostering artistic integrity through a holistic educational approach. He has prepared students for college programs in multiple disciplines, including Songwriting, Music Technology, Music Production, Cinema Media Arts and more.
