Kyle Novy brings his experience in modern songwriting and technology to the Singer-Songwriter program at the Interlochen Arts Academy. A guitarist of nearly twenty years, Kyle is equally experienced on stage and in the studio. He also writes and performs on piano, mandolin, drums, bass, and hammered dulcimer.
Kyle earned a bachelor’s degree in Guitar Performance (Commercial Music) from Musicians Institute, and a Master’s degree in Crosscultural Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary, focusing his studies on music and postmodern culture. His performance experience in the Los Angeles area includes playing guitar in theatrical, studio, and live performance settings, as well as composing music for web videos, commercials, national radio ads, art events, and more.
As a music producer and audio engineer, Kyle has guided many artists through the creative process, and is currently a judge for the Indie International Songwriting Contest. After opening a recording studio in the Pacific Northwest, Kyle launched My Song Alive, an online production company recording songs for artists all over the country. In addition to his teaching and production roles, Kyle is currently releasing over 50 original songs for free with his most recent project, Mount Valor.
