One of the most crucial intellectual relationships is the connection we have with information. Throughout our lives, we are always making decisions based on the information we gather. This relationship can be either an active one or a passive one. A library, as part of an educational institution, is a means for its students and patrons to have a proactive and personal relationship with information. A major role of a library is to allow, nourish, and promote a healthy and vibrant relationship with information. A student aware of this relationship becomes a lifelong learner. With good informational skills, one has the tools for good decision making.
