Lucas Moneypenny is excited to work with young people this summer. He comes to Interlochen Arts Camp from the Academy, where he spent the past academic year as a residence hall manager. An alumnus of Grand Valley State University, Moneypenny earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting. Through his work, he explores the relationship between the spiritual and the physical. Inspired by religious works of art, he attempts to place his beliefs in a contemporary cultural conversation. Experiencing faith in the act of painting, his objective is to provoke curiosity and lasting engagement within others about aspects of the Divine. Moneypenny is teaching nature drawing and assisting faculty this summer in the drawing and painting studios at Interlochen.
