A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Valerie Miller recently graduated from Youngstown State University, completing a major in Music Education (with a focus in saxophone) and a minor in Nonprofit Leadership. At YSU, Valerie participated in everything from jazz band and wind ensemble to marching and pep bands; along with student organizations such as OMEA and the Student Nonprofit Leadership Organization. There, she also completed an internship with a nonprofit community art school called Students Motivated by the Arts (SMARTS), helping to provide arts programming to the underserved populations of Northeast Ohio. Valerie has spent the past three summers serving on the Patron Services Summer Staff at Interlochen Arts Camp. This summer marks her first season as a Patron Services Summer Manager, and this fall will begin her first year serving as a Residence Hall Coordinator at the Academy.
