2016-17 Academy Theatre titles announced

Interlochen Arts Academy has announced its theatre titles for the 2016-17 academic year, bringing a selection of stage staples and a "lost work" of Shakespeare to the Interlochen campus.

Staged works for the upcoming year include the French farce, A Flea in Her Ear, the contemporary serio-comic play She Kills Monsters, and a new adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time, based on the popular children's book. Musicals are represented by the Tony Award-winning My Fair Lady and Interlochen alumnus (and Tony winner) Adam Guettel's The Light in the Piazza. Also of note is the return of the student-led One Act Festival, which sees Interlochen students taking on the directing and production of several short plays over a three-day period.

Of special note, the Theatre Arts department will be staging what has been called "Shakespeare's lost play," Cardenio, along with a Shakespeare symposium that will investigate the 400-year old authorship issue.
