April has been a relatively quiet month for dancers, with instructional time focused on preparing for the spring dance performance.
Along with several original choreographic works by Interlochen Arts Academy dance faculty, the students are also staging excerpts from Marius Petipa’s ballet adaptation of Miguel de Cervantes’ Don Quixote and Christopher Fleming’s rock ballet, Janis and Joe, which is based on the music of Janis Joplin and Joe Cocker. The dancers will present the performance on May 18 and 19, with an additional performance during Festival 2018 on May 24.
