The Art of Ecology: Remembering Jack Hood

In 1963, Jack Hood became Interlochen Arts Academy’s first instructor of ecology. Hood, who planned the Academy’s first Earth Day celebration, often took his students on field trips to Interlochen’s Riley Woods property. Fifty-five years later, the Art of Ecology project is carrying on his work by creating safe, environmentally friendly spaces for students to study the ecosystems of Bridge Lake.
