David Holland (IAA Faculty), Viola Instructor & Conductor - Interlochen Arts Academy, talks about some of the reasons that being a member of the Arts Academy faculty has been such a fulfilling experience.
The fourth annual Future of Cinema Fest was held on the Interlochen campus this fall and screened the best work of high school students around the world. In addition to screening student films, the festival brings some of the world’s leading filmmakers to the Interlochen campus where they work closely with students who also have a passion for storytelling and film.
At the end of the fall semester, Interlochen welcomed renowned photographers and husband and wife duo Robert and Shana ParkeHarrison to campus. They met with students, viewed student work, provided feedback and presented their own work in front of a student assembly.
The Singer-Songwriter program at Interlochen Arts Academy provides a comprehensive curriculum in the discipline of popular music songwriting. Students will foster their own personal musical style while developing skills in melody, harmony, arranging and lyric-writing.
2017 has been a year where Interlochen broke ground on a new Music Building, welcomed a new President, and witnessed many lifetime memories in the making. Join us in reflecting on some of the events of the past year.
