Mary Limer

Part-Time Residence Hall Assistant, Interlochen Arts Academy


M.S., Horticultural Science, North Carolina State University; B.S., Math/Computing, Northern Michigan University

A Michigan native, Mary Limer was born in Detroit, and has lived/worked in southeast Michigan for most of her life. Limer grew up with two older sisters, and two younger twin brothers; and loved camping in northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula, where she graduated from Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan, near beautiful Lake Superior. Limer spent over 25 years working as a Systems/Data Analyst in the Health Care industry, and has been married to hubby David (a member of Interlochen's I.T. department) since 2009. Limer moved "Up-North", to northwest Michigan in 2012, and joined the Interlochen community in 2018.

Some fun facts:

  • Limer owns a Papillon dog named Tango; they often take walks around campus after hours. Come say hi!
  • She loves to garden, bike, hike, travel, and swim in local lakes.
  • She has a scuba diving certification, and dove the shipwrecks off of Manitou Island and St. Ignace
  • Was attending Northern Michigan University during the year that the Edmund Fitzgerald freighter sank in Lake Superior during "the gales of November."
